Claimed iPad Pro Images Suggest Secondary Port [PIC]

After a short period of silence, the iPad Pro is here again: a user of the Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo (spotted by Italian blog HDBlog) shared three images that appear to show a mockup of the rumoured bigger iPad, dubbed as the iPad Plus or iPad Pro (via MacRumors).

There were two iPad Pro case leaks: one with a cutout on the left side and one without it. The recently shared images are in line with the previous rumours showing that opening on the left side.

The Wall Street Journal’s sources have already spilled information about a possible USB 3.0 port on the iPad Pro, so an extra connectivity port would make sense and could be placed on the left side, opening the possibility of connecting a keyboard or a mouse.

Since the Lightning port and the USB 3.0 port are so similar, it is impossible to decide. Considering Apple’s decision for the new MacBook to feature a USB-C port, this could make sense.

The iPad Pro is said to feature four speakers, a 12.2-inch (or 12.9-inch?) display, 2 GB of RAM, and possibly a stylus. Touch ID seems to be a given, considering that Apple incorporated the fingerprint sensor into the latest generation of iPads. The iPad Pro is rumoured to launch sometime this fall, although earlier rumours claimed mass production would start in Q2 2015.
