Apple Announces Special Event for October 16

In line with a previous report from Re/code, Apple has sent out its invitations for a special event that will take place on its Cupertino campus, commencing at 10:00 am PT October 16 (via The Loop).
As you can see from the above image, the invitation sent out gives no clue of what Apple plans to unveil at the event. Instead the invitation reads: “It’s been way too long.”
The media event is in line with the company’s product release pattern (A frequent occurrence in the past few years): following a September release of the iPhone, October is the month for a new desktop operating system, and, of course, the iPad.
So, on the day of October 16, Apple is expected to unveil the next generation iPads, possibly new Mac computers and the highly anticipated Yosemite desktop operating system.

Way too long? Sounds like they will also update the mini and the Apple TV????
or a huge updated to Mac in general. “its been way to long” for what? It has been a long time since they introduced the mini, or the mac in general, not sure. Maybe OS11?
new os’s are usually announced in june
Its been way too long since they offered hi res anti glare! I want that back. Don’t care for the retina display.
I don’t think they’d announce OS11 (OS XI?) with the next ieteration of OS X, Yosemite, not even released publicly yet.
New iPads are not exciting, especially the iPad mini which is destined to lose a lot of sales to the 6+.
