iPhone 14 Supply Issues to Have ‘Limited Impact’ on Production Says Kuo

In a series of tweets posted earlier, veteran Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the ongoing supply chain issues with some key iPhone components will have a “limited impact” on the upcoming mass production of iPhone 14 models (via MacRumors).

Kuo noted that iPhone 14 component shortages can easily be made up by alternative suppliers. The analyst continued that Samsung Display and BOE can fill the initial supply gap caused by LG Display’s issues.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max display panels from LG reportedly had some appearance issues. Kuo said it should not take much time for LG to address the issue.

Apple is expected to announce a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max in September. The company will also scrap the “mini” model this year.

The iPhone maker is reportedly looking to better differentiate between its Pro and non-Pro iPhones this year. The two pricier models will be the only ones to get processor and camera upgrades, as well as a new “hole + pill” cutout on the front instead of a display notch.
