Telus-owned Koodo looks to have recently offered some special promo plans to existing customers, in what looks like a move to keep customers ahead of any fall promos that might be coming our way, especially around Black Friday.
According to text messages sent out in mid-June seen by iPhone in Canada, Koodo offered the following “exclusive rate plan offers” to “splash into summer”:
Both plans included Canada-wide calling and Koodo said the offers were only available until July 1, 2024.
The iPhone in Canada reader that received this offer in B.C. (thanks Paul) was on a $39/20GB plan with three lines. They jumped on the $35/65GB plan.
By offering some special promo plans to existing customers, that aren’t available on its website, Koodo can ensure these customers stick around and aren’t actively hunting for the next best offer, lowering churn rates, which are publicly reported every quarter.
Recently, Koodo increased its wireless prices just like Virgin Plus, a moved followed by Fido. Koodo also recently increased the price of visual voicemail to $8/month as well.
If your text message settings are set to block out unknown senders, you may want to check that you’re not blocking out texts from Koodo as you may be missing out on special plans.
