Freedom Mobile to Sponsor 2025 Calgary Stampede Show
Freedom Mobile is now the presenting sponsor of the 2025 Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show, a major move that cements its growing presence in Western Canada.
The 10-night show runs from July 4 to 13 and will feature Alberta country star Carolyn Dawn Johnson as the headliner.
“Returning home to perform on the iconic Grandstand Stage is a dream come true,” said Johnson, known for hits like Georgia and Complicated. The high-energy show will blend live music with stunt performances, motocross, pyrotechnics, and a drone light show.
As part of a new multi-year sponsorship deal, Freedom Mobile joins the Stampede as a Champion-level sponsor. “This partnership with the Calgary Stampede reinforces our long-term investment in Canadian culture and community,” said a Freedom Mobile spokesperson in a statement to iPhone in Canada. “It’s a proud milestone as part of our journey since joining Quebecor in April 2023.”
The company says this agreement reflects its broader push into Western Canada. Other efforts include a multi-year sponsorship of Vancouver’s Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), where it’s building the Freedom Mobile Arch—a new outdoor amphitheatre set to open in 2026.
Freedom Mobile says in the past two years it has grown to over 4 million wireless customers with Videotron and Fizz, while also has expanded its 5G+ network and has seen prices drop by over 26%, citing StatsCan data. The company now has over 1,300 retail locations across five provinces.
