Rogers is extending its Mobi by Rogers bike share sponsorship in Vancouver for another three years, with the new agreement keeping the carrier’s name on the service through 2029.

The renewal begins in 2027, and Rogers is marking the extension by giving away 200,000 minutes of free rides through the rest of 2026, although the promotion arrives just as Vancouver heads into its wetter fall and winter riding season.

Over each of the next three years, the company also plans to offer annual pass giveaways, free ride minutes tied to special events and surprise promotions around the city, with details to be shared through Rogers and Mobi social channels.

Since launching in Vancouver in 2016, Mobi riders have taken more than 8.8 million trips and travelled over 26.2 million kilometres across Vancouver and UBC. The service now includes about 2,600 bikes, including e-bikes, spread across more than 260 stations throughout Vancouver and UBC.

The renewal comes as other Canadian companies continue putting money into bike-share and transit sponsorships. Earlier this year, Wealthsimple announced a deal tied to 3,500 BIXI e-bikes in Montreal, while Rogers has previously used transit promotions such as free TTC rides for eligible credit cardholders.

“For 10 years, Vancouverites have embraced Mobi by Rogers as a fun, convenient and sustainable way to get around the city, and we’re thrilled to continue that journey together,” said Terrie Tweddle, chief brand and communications officer at Rogers. “This renewal is about more than extending a partnership. It’s about investing in the future of mobility in Vancouver and celebrating the riders who have made Mobi such a success.”

Vancouver Bike Share CEO Mia Kohout said the service has become part of the city’s transportation network for both residents and visitors.

“Mobi by Rogers has been an integral part of the transportation network in Vancouver for the past 10 years, enabling both residents and visitors alike to choose a fun, active and sustainable transportation option,” Kohout said.

Rogers has also been active in Vancouver this year through network upgrades tied to World Cup matches, while the carrier continues to compete with Telus and Bell in national wireless testing such as the latest Opensignal mobile network rankings.
