Telus is expanding its Easy Payment program to now also cover phone and tech accessories like wireless headphones, smart home products, and more, a spokesperson for the company told iPhone in Canada in an emailed statement.
Both new and existing Telus customers can now buy one (or more) accessories valued at up to $500 CAD in any Telus corporate store, and spread the total cost over a period of up to 24 months.
“Shopping for the latest and greatest in tech is made even easier with the possibility to buy and finance accessories together for a lower upfront payment overall,” said the spokesperson.
The Telus Easy Payment program previously only covered smartphones, providing financing with $0 upfront on any device on a 24-month contract.
The expansion is designed to make tech more affordable for Canadians, and complements other budget-friendly offers like the Bring-It-Back program, which gives customers a haircut on the upfront price of a new smartphone when they agree to bring it back, and the Connecting for Good program from the telecom operator.
Telus has a wide variety of tech accessories on offer, ranging from smartphone essentials like headphones, earphones, chargers, cases, and screen protectors to fitness trackers and even the Apple TV 4K, AirTags and more.
Other wireless carriers such as Rogers also offers 0% financing on accessories, a program that debuted last summer.
